Training Philosophy

Our programming offers tons of variety! You will get to do everything from Boxing style workouts using heavy bags, to animal flow movements, body weight exercises, Tabata, Turbo Kick and sooooooo much more!

Variety is the spice of life and we believe that variety is important to keep fitness interesting instead of boring and mundane. You will likely never do the exact same class twice at Read~iness Fitness in an entire year! That's a promise.

We will offer you nutritional advice based on things we have personally tried and believe in. We do also believe that not one program meets every clients needs. So we will help you to discover what foods work for you and which do not.

Bio

I am Tracy Read, I am a wife, mother, and fitness enthusiast - and now certified Personal Training Specialist! I just recently became a wife actually. After 19 years of being a single mom, I finally met "the one". I have two children, a son who is 19 and a daughter who is 6. I also have two step-children ages 15 and 13.

I wasn't always a fitness enthusiast either! This is something fairly new to me to be honest! It has only been over the past four years that I have really began to explore different fitness programs and over the past year I have become addicted to a new lifestyle.

For the past few years I have been attending different types of Boot Camp classes. One night a new member came to Boot Camp, the second she walked in you could tell she was feeling intimidated and very uncomfortable. It was obvious that this was a whole new world for her. She joined in and about fifteen minutes into the class she left the room. I asked the trainer if he wanted me to check on her. I went into the change room to find her feeling faint, defeated, and upset. I told her about my own fight with my weight and encouraged her to come back into class. She did! Since then she has been attending class regularly and you can see her confidence building and the rest of her shrinking!

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. That night I sent my trainer an email, along with my before and after photo, to send to his new client. I wanted her to know that I was truly speaking from experience and that I had once been very overweight as well. I decided that night that this was the opportunity I had been looking for, this is what I wanted to do, I wanted to motivate other women during their journey to health and fitness.

The following day I decided I would develop a program specifically for women, using my personal experience as the foundation of the program.

Readiness Fitness came to life!

I have worked in a couple of different fields, but never have I been as excited as I am about this new venture. In the past I worked in office environments where I was required to motivate my staff to perform to their highest abilities. I was very successful in this role. I also worked for eBay International as their Rewards and Recognition Supervisor where I developed programs to motivate and reward staff based on their performance. Now, I want to combine all of my experiences to help women of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels to reach their goals!

My Personal Training Specialist certification was completed through canfitpro. My First Aid and CPR re-certification was completed May 13, 2012. Since then I have added many new certification to my portfolio. I love to learn!

Although I am new to the industry, one thing that I have that many trainers don't is the fact that I have lived it! I have been overweight, for most of my life actually! Majority of people who get into this business have never struggled with their weight, never had self esteem or confidence issues. Usually they are people who have always been super fit, active and healthy. Don't get me wrong, I am sure they are great at what they do, but do I think they can relate to you the way I will, no I don't. Do I think that they will truly understand your issues with emotional eating, stress eating, low self esteem and self confidence, no I don't. But I know that I will! Some of the issues I just mentioned are still things I struggle with on a daily basis, but they are not things that I cave into any longer. I want to share my experiences and my knowledge with you and I want us to have a great time getting FIT!
