Personal Trainer Overview
Growing up, I was a competitive gymnast from a young age. Being active and involved in fitness was second nature to me. I pursued gymnastics in college as a member of the Umass Women's Gymnastics Division 1 team and graduated with a BS in Exercise Science and Sports Management. I had the opportunity to put my skills to work right away in the fitness industry by working for one of Boston's Best Neighborhood health clubs. I have been managing the clubs, doing personal training in Boston and teaching energetic group exercise classes for over twelve years. I have a passion for helping my clients achieve their goals by creating individualized exercise programs that are challenging, realistic and fun! I believe it is important to inspire people to push themselves out of their comfort zone and to try new workouts. I teach my clients to train efficiently, work hard and to be accountable whether it is a one on one training session or small group training.
Training Philosophy
I customize every workout for each individual client, designing programs for your body type. Everyone has a different medical history and body composition which is important to look at when training your body. I have had three knee surgeries and multiple injuries throughout my athletic career. Understanding how to train your body differently after an injury for instance, can be frustrating but necessary in order to get results. The same goes with pre/post pregnancy. Changing your workouts based on all these key factors as you proceed through life is important. I am always changing my own workout style to stay in tune with my body. How I train today is different than I trained 5 years ago. I train my clients with the same philosophy. Continuingly educating myself on new exercise guidelines, training techniques and styles is essential for me. It keeps me up to date with new and exciting trends in the industry which helps me create fun and invigorating workouts!
