Personal Trainer Overview
Form-focused functional training to allow the body to become the machine it was meant to be through the use of kettlebells and TRX.
Training Philosophy
I believe in a thorough re-examination of the 8 basic movements of daily living to promote safe, effective, and efficient functional moving and living. Through a combined use of primarily kettlebells, TRX and bodyweight exercises, the body is able to be retrained to move the way it was originally intended before being overwhelmed with too much sitting on a day to day basis. I believe in challenging the system past perceived limits placed on it by the client themselves. We set our own limits and unfairly put ourselves into a corner where we restrict our own potential. I help clients to see that they are mentally and physically capable of much more than they have lead themselves to believe. I work with clients of all ages, 16-80 currently, helping them reach their goals through a constant examination of how the body is moving and how it is feeling to allow them to be master of their own body and its movements. 15 years of martial arts and 7 years of competitive rugby, I have sustained my fair share of injuries and have learned from each one how to better prepare and repair the body, leading to a focus in rehabilitative approaches for clients when necessary. I specialize in focus on the shoulder, with shoulder pain and/or instabilities due to my own history of shoulder instability in both shoulders. I encourage my clients to maintain constant communication with me to help me know how they are doing in and out of the gym. What we do in the gym is for what you do every day outside of the gym. Every client's goals are different, and the program set up in the gym is to enable my client's to be as successful in every realm of life outside the gym. Everything is connected, everything is related, and with me I will help you to achieve your goals inside the gym to help you achieve your goals outside of the gym.

Bio
I am a fitness enthusiast who wants to share my love of an active lifestyle with those maintaining an active lifestyle and those seeking a more active lifestyle. I spent 15 years of my life studying Tae Kwon Do and reached the rank of 4th degree black belt, and followed that study with a pursuit of high level rugby for 7 years. After enough injuries had ensued, I have spent my time focusing on keeping the body in good functional condition and moving in ways that limit or eliminate pain and discomfort. I have taken a more rehabilitative approach to exercise and a functional reasoning for what I do and what I have my clients do. I am passionate about what I do and about what I can offer to anyone willing to embark on a journey to better themselves mentally and physically. I strive to continuously be learning and re-examining even my own movements to ensure that I am bringing the best quality of training to every client.
