Bio
While in college, at the age of 20, I joined Army ROTC in hopes of bettering myself as a leader. After a year of training I volunteered to deploy to Iraq and little did I know it would change my life forever and for the better. While deployed I sustained injuries that left me with a total of 5 surgeries and a little over 3 years worth of physical therapy. I thought I’d never be able to play sports again and to make matters worse doctors told me I probably wouldn’t be able to lift any heavy weights again and may not even regain full range of motion of my arm and hand. That’s a lot for an athlete in their 20’s to take in but I never let it discourage me. It was because of my injuries that I started going to the gym more then I ever had in my entire life. I told myself, just because I’m a wounded warrior doesn’t mean I have to walk around looking like one. Other soldiers started noticing changes in my physique and told me I’d do well as a bodybuilder so I looked into it and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I ended up medically retiring from the Army, which wasn’t something I wanted to do, but it encouraged me to start competing. Not even 5 month into retirement I competed in my first NPC show in won 1st place in Women’s Physique. I was so elated that I said why not better myself and learn all I can about training and nutrition because obviously this is the sport for me; this is where God wants me to be. A couple of weeks later I enrolled in school to get my certification as a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist. Now that I am equipped with the knowledge of a professional, not only am I anxious to further my career in bodybuilding, but more then anything all I want to do is help others reach their fitness goals and live a healthier life. The bible says, “A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might.”
I am grateful for the years of experience I gained in the Army and I’m even more grateful for my injuries because without it all I wouldn’t be the person I am today. So know that I understand the importance of nutrition, physical fitness, and being a leader, and with me as your personal trainer I am more then happy to help and guide you to whatever your fitness goals may be. I’m here to challenge you, take you out of your comfort zone, and show you your true potential.
