Bio
I was born and raised on a farm outside rural community in Wisconsin. In fact, the village I called home only has about 1,200 residents to this day. As a child I was one of those kids who was "big boned" and often times picked on for my weight. In fact, I was never one of those people who were naturally skinny. My "big boned" weight issues started to change as a teenager when I decided to take control of my weight issues and became more active. I did more on our family farm. I was active in sports through my school. I made a "homemade fitness center" in an abandoned workshop on our farm to add muscle. The results of being more active and having a young metabolism allowed me to "thin out" and have a relatively thin and muscular physique. After high school my 5'11 frame weighed 185lbs and had around 12% body fat. What I didn't realize at the time; however, was that all my progress was going to be lost...
College Years:
Unfortunately, when I entered college I did not play sports. I did not work very much on our family farm. To be honest, I didn't do much of anything but study, work my part-time job, and party with friends. To make things worse, my diet over the college years consisted of fast food, vending machine snacks, soda, and beverages I was to young to drink. Obviously my body began to change back to the "big boned" physique I experience when I was younger. For some reason; however, it didn't phase me as much as it did when I was young. Probably because I had great friends and part of me thought I was invincible. What I needed was an awakening...
Post College:
Luckily, during my college years, I found an amazing woman that I would later call my wife. It was through her that my life changing awakening happened...
After college my wife and I began start our lives together. We got married, bought a house, and started our careers. I was in Law Enforcement and she was in the medical field. Luckily for me, her employer conducts annual health risk assessments for their employees and spouses so they can gauge their current health level. My wife convinced me to participate...
Life Changing Moment:
During my first health risk assessment, my 5'11 frame weighed in at 246lbs. My body fat percentage was in the 36% range. I saw all of this on paper. A 100% is perfect health according to the health risk assessment material. At the age of 25 I scored an 86%. I couldn't believe it. If I continued on the path I was currently on I was at risk for an early death or disease ridden life...
Decision Time:
After that news I had two choices. I could do nothing and struggle with my health as I aged or I could make a change. At 25, I was about to literally make a life altering decision...
From that moment I decided to take control of my health and fitness and totally re-vamp my lifestyle. Remember, I am not one of those people who are naturally skinny. I enjoy eating all types of food and snacks (good and bad). This was going to be a very difficult change for me and something I had to work hard at and have the determination to keep it up...
My diet and fitness activity changed toward a healthy lifestyle. I did not change it all at one time. Instead I changed one thing. Made that habit. Changed another thing. Made that a habit. I have been repeating that process still to this day...
Now, at the age of 31, I am healthier than I have ever been in my life. I am back down to my pre-college weight and have been at the lowest risk possible for early death or disease on my annual health risk assessments. In fact, the last health risk assessment taken I scored a 100%!

As I said earlier, I am not one of those personal trainers that is naturally skinny and can eat anything I want. I was not born with a "6 pack" (I wish I was though). Nor am I one of those trainers who is a natural "gym rat" that lives to work out. I am; however, a normal guy that loves to look good, feal great, and just enjoy life.
I have found there are struggles in everyday life that make living a healthy lifestyle and obtaining fitness goals feel like they are impossible to obtain.
