Personal Trainer Overview

I treat every client as an individual, having specific goals pertaining to their own health and wellness. My job is to create a program designed to allow my clients to reach their specific goals in an efficient manner. Furthermore, by utilizing diverse training methods and creating an environment of constant change, my training technique maximizes physical development, but also makes for a more enjoyable fitness experience.

Training Philosophy

Fitness is my passion; I treat every client as an individual, having specific goals pertaining to their own health and wellness. My job is to create a program designed to allow my clients to reach their specific goals in an efficient manner. Furthermore, by utilizing diverse training methods and creating an environment of constant change, my training technique maximizes physical development, but also makes for a more enjoyable fitness experience. is my vocation. I want my clients to view personal training as an investment in a lifestyle change, and not as a short-term solution. My goal is to create an environment in which my clients become fit, strong, flexible, well-balanced athletes who genuinely look forward to and enjoy their time in the gym.

Bio

Born and raised in Worcester, MA, Matt Hitzhusen has been a certified personal trainer since 2001, and has been working in the fitness industry since 2005. An accomplished athlete and youth coach, Matt has been active in sports and fitness since an early age and has maintained this passion throughout.

In 2001, after graduating from Trinity College (CT) with a B.A. in History and Italian Studies, Matt enrolled with Literacy AmeriCorps, teaching Adult Basic Education and GED-prep in Southeast Florida to learning disabled and behaviorally challenged students. After completing his commitment with AmeriCorps, Matt attended and graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law, where served as Managing Editor of the Arizona Journal of International & Comparative Law, and published an article on medical malpractice reform. After passing the Arizona Bar Exam, Matt decided to change career paths and follow his passion for fitness by entering the field as a personal trainer.

Since 2007, Matt has owned and operated The H.I.T.Z. LLC, an independent personal training company. Through his training, Matt seeks to motivate and educate his clients, challenging them with an ever-evolving repertoire of training techniques and cutting-edge fitness equipment. Matt’s clients range from teens to the elderly, and include beginners, advanced trainers, and competitive athletes. However, the common ground they all share is that every client receives thoughtful training and guidance, specifically tailored to his/her fitness-related goals. Whether these goals are functional, aesthetic, or sports-performance related, Matt prides himself in actively working with his clients to help them achieve their maximum physical potential.
