Bio

Marie Morgan is a ACE certified personal trainer and RRCA certified running coach. She is also an AASDN certified nutrition specialist and specializes in gait and posture analysis. Marie began running in 2002 in order to aid in weight loss. She not only lost 50 lbs, she found her passion. Marie started running local 5k’s and placing in her age group. She eventually worked her way up to her first marathon in Chicago 2003. She has since run 8 more marathons and has run the Boston Marathon twice. Running the Boston Marathon was always something Marie only dreamed of. As she learned more about her form, training, and nutrition, that dream became a reality. Marie loves sharing her passion with others. She believes that anyone can run, and with the right training, you can run your best.

Marie has been a personal trainer since 2003 and worked at various running stores, including Running Fit, for 5 years and more recently you can find her at Elite Feet Brighton. She has taught numerous running and strength training classes in the community and at Running Fit. She currently works with Livestrong, teaching classes at the YMCA in Ann Arbor. After she started training cancer survivors, her reason for running changed. She was inspired by their strength and courage and started running in honor of her friends in the Livestrong program.

Marie started out with just a jog around the block and knows how to go from “just finishing” a 5k to running your best marathon. She believes that training for a race is more about the journey than the destination. If you have a great training program and are mentally prepared and confident, you are on your way to a P.R.!!
