Personal Trainer Overview

S-peed, M-obility, A-gility, Q-uickness Training...Once used only for elite athletes to maximize athleticism, SMAQ Training is a form of interval training that incorporates coordinated movement patterns, plyometrics, resistance training for strength and stability exercises to help improve functional movement and prevent injuries

Training Philosophy

SMAQ Training for Non-Athletes

Is perfect for you if you’re looking to lose weight, drop some inches, improve or maintain your overall health and have some fun in the process!! I will use all my energy and expertise to develop a program that will inspire and motivate you through a SMAQ experience that will blast off the fat and tone your entire body. My goal is to strengthen and stretch the muscles, while stabilizing the joints used in your every-day movement as well as improve your overall conditioning by helping you create a healthy lifestyle.

SMAQ Training for Athletes

This training is an excellent way to supplement your (sport specific) technical training. With SMAQ Training you will be creating the stamina and coordination base to maximize your reps in the gym, on the court or field. The general purpose of SMAQ training for athletes is to improve your ability to move in space by adding explosion and efficiency to your movements. Your confidence will skyrocket as you jump higher, run faster and react quicker than your opponent when it counts most!!

Bio

As a youth I looked forward to practices in the evening no matter the sport. I enjoyed the camaraderie of my teammates, I enjoyed competing but even more than that, I loved getting better. The newness that it brought to my God given abilities and the feeling of preparedness it created gave the confidence to a naturally introverted boy to deal with an unknown future. This passion and drive to get better carried me through my scholastic, collegiate and business careers. With my affinity for basketball, I continued to compete and enjoy the camaraderie of my teammates at Northwestern HS and North Carolina A&T State University, after graduating with a BS in Accounting. I strove to get better by studying and earning the Certified Public Accountant credentials, while pursuing a MS degree in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Maryland. While leading multi-million dollar projects in Corporate America and realizing entrepreneurial dreams in the Real Estate market, I gained an interest in developing youth athletes, as a way to give back to the community that I have been a part of my entire life. I started coaching and training athletes with Next Level Elite basketball club and continuing when my own children became of age with the Marlboro Boys & Girls Club. I've taken my passion for developing youth and getting them better at several travel / elite clubs including Bowie Express, Maryland's Finest, Severn Elite, Metro Celtics, DC Heat and St. Anselm's Abbey School. This extensive exposure has created a public demand for SMAQ Training and ultimately SMAQ Fitness to meet the health needs of not only athletes but the general population and promote a world that... MOVES, FEELS, AND GETS BETTER.
