Personal Trainer Overview
I have over 15 years experience and have worked in corporate fitness, commercial fitness, collegiate strength and conditioning, personal training and sports performance enhancement. I've owned and operated a small personal training studio for the last 5 years. Recently, I merged with Studio South Fitness, working as the Fitness Operations and Program Director. I have a Bachlor's Degree in Exercise and Sport Science and a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology. I am board certified in exercise physiology; hold certifications in Posture Alignment through Egoscue University, Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Nutrition Specialist through Exercise and Nutrition Works, CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, expert in Functional Movement Screens, and a Sports Performance Coach and Club Coach through USA Weightlifting.
Training Philosophy
I consider each and every client an athlete! My motto is "to train movements rather than muscles!" I start each client with a posture alignment and functional movement screen and then develop corrective exercises based on the outcome. By using this process it will prevent compensations and injury prior to leading into higher level activities.
