Personal Trainer Overview

I am a passionate trainer who emphasizes intensity during workouts. It doesn't matter what level of trainee you are, because I will ensure that you work at the maximum intensity you are capable of at that juncture, and for that day.

I'm a highly social individual, often using conversation as a way to brighten up challenging work-outs. I'm extremely interested in my clients lives, but also quite willing to share my own life.

I like to believe, that as a trainer, I am one of the best. I have extensive education about exercise physiology, anatomy, bio-chemistry, and all the relevant fields that apply to trainer. However, I'm also looked at as an 'exercise bank", capable of devising unique and challenging exercises that keep workouts fresh and new. Most of all, I'm an extremely passionate trainer. I absolutely love my job, and love training my clients.

Training Philosophy

The human body is often viewed as a whole entity, and so maximizing the potential of the parts is often lost. Regardless of goal, approaching the human body with an individualistic mentality ensures that each part of the body is properly addressed, and in doing so the whole becomes greater.

This "body-bodybuilding" mentality has helped me achieve exceptional results with all ranges of clients and goals. This is because regardless of goal, this approach works. The philosophy just needs to be altered to fit each client and their goal.

I'm a trainer who utilizes circuit training as a primary mode for weight loss clients. I am not a firm believer in pounding away at the treadmill or pavement for hours on end to burn calories. I believe that hard work utilizing all the body's muscles, energy systems, and caloric stores are the key to effective fat burning.

Moreover, as a nutritionist I am firmly in belief of the 3-2-1 method that was taught to me through ISSA, and further refined through advanced physiology classes at Maryland. This approach ensures that lean tissue is preserved, and fats are kept minimal. However, I do believe that carbohydrates should be adjusted per goal, and multiple times throughout the week. This process is referred to as "carbohydrate-cycling". For those clients looking to build muscle I would place them upon a caloric surplus diet that cycled their carbohydrates to higher levels on at least 2 days a week.

Lastly, motivation for me stems from my true passion for exercise. I love working out, and love working out my clients. I honestly enjoy their achievements as if they were my own. It is this passion that I use to keep a smile on my face, and a burn in my heart, that works its way into the souls of my clients. Everyone who works with me falls in love with exercise, or at the very least, how their body feels with exercise.

Education

B.S. Kinesiology, University of Maryland College Park

Internship: Philbin's Family Fitness Center, Gaithersburg, MD. (1 year)

Bio

I am a 22 year old graduate of one of the greatest colleges in the entire world, the University of Maryland. I'm a proud alumni, and accredit the challenging education in Kinesiology for many of my strong points in training.

I fell in love with exercise shortly after graduating high school, when I soon realized that the end of my sports careers also meant the end of "workouts". I first started to maintain a physique that attracted women. However, soon enough I fell in love with changing my body, and how it felt to finish a hard workout. I fell in love with the "pump", and the feeling of getting stronger.

I believe that in our lives we can control two things, our bodies and our minds, and so I set out with full intensity to perfect mine as best as I could.

I soon saw some light modeling gigs, and attention from trainers about becoming one. Soon enough, while employed at a small gym near my home-town I finally made the jump and became a trainer. Years later I'm well accomplished, and the Director of my current companies training program.
