Personal Trainer Overview
High Intensity Training (HIT) is my style. That means we do 1 set on each exercise, but that set is to failure and beyond. Each repetition is 6 seconds or slower, 3 seconds to raise the weight and 3 to lower. Workout sessions go from 20 minutes to no longer then 45, if you can go longer, we're not working hard enough.
Training Philosophy
I train HIT and practice HIT. We get in, get it done and move on. There's no lingering or loitering, we've got a purpose and we focus on it. With HIT, muscle burn is the name of the game. We want it, because without it, we're not going to see improvement. If you're not improving, I'm not training you right, and I train people right. Once we get the burn, we work into and through it, going to the max with diligence and perseverance. If you're not looking to work hard, look somewhere else, because this is not for people who don't want change. If you want to see yourself change, no matter your age, come and work with me.
Education
I was a Sgt in the USMC, after which I returned to college and completed a B.S. in Applied Health Sciences. Classes included Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, Adv. Nutrition, Anatomy, etc. I was the off-season speed, agility and conditioning coach for my colleges woman's tennis team. I am a Red Cross certified lifeguard, including CPR, First aid and AED training. I am ACSM certified as a Personal trainer and working towards my NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification.
Bio
After 4 yrs in the Marines, I separated from active duty and returned to school. The Marines gave me a great respect for fitness in general, so I decided to study Health Sciences in college. My 2nd yr in, I became ACSM Certified and started training clients in my college gym. I've been training ever since and I can't tell you how much I love to see my clients improve. They have more energy, less fewer health problems, one client had constant knee pain, but after starting to workout and eat healthier, he dropped over 50 pounds and his knees no longer bother him. It's incredible how a little gym time and some good eats can change a persons outlook on life. I believe there is nothing more satisfying then helping to improve the lives of others around you. I just wish I could help more people realize their full potential, no matter what their age.
