Personal Trainer Overview

After college, I spent years working my way up a corporate ladder until I realized that I wanted to feel engaged, interested, and passionate about my work. I realized that I really enjoyed sharing what I have learned about health and fitness with others, and helping people be fit and live healthier lives is my calling. Now I wake up every day excited about the opportunity to help people to become better versions of themselves.

Training Philosophy

I like to combine old-school strength training with functional and ballistic movement and metabolic conditioning using kettlebells and high-intensity interval training. I also use yoga as a means of discovering and addressing physical and mental weaknesses, focusing on flexibility and balance to recover more quickly from intense workouts, and maintaining calm mental focus.

Education

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Bachelor of Political Science 2006; Registered Yoga Teacher RYT500 - 9 years of yoga hatha-vinyasa study, 8 years of kettlebell training, 23 years of weight training, a lifetime of sports and fitness activities including kayaking, biking, wrestling, baseball, football, and soccer.

My name is Johnny Nasello and I’m a certified personal trainer, yoga teacher, and fitness blogger using http://www.johnnyfit.com to share my style of training and interests in fitness and lifestyle with you.

For as long as I can remember I participated in school and league sports; and, as I got older my interests in physical activity transitioned into bicycling, kayaking, hiking trails and exploring National and State parks.

Starting around 2007 I found myself in my first post-college desk job and started noticing some changes in myself that I was not particularly proud of. For the first time in my life, I started to develop body fat around my mid-section and I decided that it was time that I did something about it. I didnt’ know it at the time but that decision changed my life.

I ordered a pair of dumbbells that arrived by delivery a week later. Since then, my knowledge of physical fitness, weight training and yoga have expanded from hobby to lifestyle. I’ve learned so much from the experience that I’ve started JohnnyFit as a way of expressing myself and sharing my knowledge and perspective with others who also share this common interest.

The site is dedicated to helping other fitness enthusiasts explore different methods, routines, and products, and to share their own experiences and promote the fitness lifestyle.
