Personal Trainer Overview

Hi! I'm Jessica Colaluca and I'm the founder and primary trainer at Holistic Personal Training in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Jersey City. I have been a happy gym rat since my tween-years and continue to learn and grow in the world of health and fitness. I want to share my experience with you and develop a program together that addresses REAL health and fitness.

Training Philosophy

My approach to fitness is holistic, meaning we will focus on physical, mental, and emotional health and strength. By using this framework, we acknowledge that our physical, mental, and emotional health are interdependent and inseparable. This point of view is what allows us to change habits and experience lasting improvements that permeate all facets of our lives. Holistic personal training is the right option for anyone looking for personal growth, a healthy relationship with your body, and to be the best version of themselves.

When we are devoted to holistic health we only have compassion for ourselves and will not seek a specific body type or goal-weight. Holistic personal training views such tactics as unhealthy mentally and emotionally, which manifests itself physically. Everybody is already perfect and just as they should be. If you are open to being stronger than you already are, having more energy, thinking more clearly, reporting higher levels of happiness, and spending more energy taking care of yourself, then this is the right option for you.

The holistic approach to fitness acknowledges that you will be a better person if you practice taking care of your body. This will allow you to go out into the world and make more positive impacts with greater confidence and higher self-esteem, compassion, and mental/emotional clarity. Our overall goal is to lead a more active, purposeful, and fulfilling life.

In a typical training session, we will begin by debriefing your progress toward our short- and long-term goals since our last meeting while examining how mental and emotional experiences impacted our choices and ultimately our physical health. We will then spend the bulk our time practicing techniques for physical strength, endurance, and toning. We will end our session by setting new goals to holistically improve health.

Education

I hold a BA from Indiana University and a Masters Degree in Education from CUNY - Hunter College. I have experience training with adolescents and adults.
