Personal Trainer Overview

I take an all-natural approach to improved health without the use of any short-term diet or quick fix. If you're looking for longevity and/or optimal performance, I'm your gal. From general health and disease prevention, to sport-specific and marathon training, I've done it all. My track record speaks for itself, with a history of eliminating common aches and pains and educating people on the components of a healthy lifestyle I truly want to help you get healthy!

Training Philosophy

I don't believe in diets. I don't believe in supplements. I don't believe in short-term "I have to lose weight for my birthday" type goals (because are you just going to go back to being unhealthy afterwards?). I don't believe in fast food and energy drinks.

What I believe in, is long-term health. Whether it's just so you can go about your day-to-day life in less pain, or whether you're an athlete looking to improve the skills of your sport, it all comes down to a science, and I'm a woman of science, and piecing the body back together so it can perform and heal optimally is what I do. I believe in natural hydration, I believe in sleep and stress management. I believe in farmers markets and eating local. I believe in permanent lifestyle changes that will leave you feeling wonderful and whole again. I believe that mental training is more important than physical training. Train your mind, and your body will follow.

Education

I have a degree in Sports Medicine, with focuses in exercise physiology, nutrition, and sport psychology.

I have worked in and/or studied the following areas: cardiology, exercise physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, nutrition, special populations, group exercise, biology, sport science, injury prevention and rehabilitation, athletic training, research methods, pathophysiology... the list goes on.

Bio

To keep it simple, I practice what I preach. A former (national) athlete and sport finatic gave me my drive and motivation to help athletes. And after working in a cardiology office, and seeing sick people come and go and never really get better, I obtained my motivation to help sick people recover, and help prevent others from ever getting sick.

I am always active and on the go with my Activity Club organizing things like hikes, kayak trips, boot camps, running events, etc. I live to be healthy and that resonates with every thing that I do!
