Personal Trainer Overview
Training Philosophy
Exercise hasn't always been the foundation of my lifestyle. After becoming fit myself, my exercise hobby turned into a passion. As a personal trainer, I want to help others achieve their fitness goals as I have done so for myself.
Each client is unique and I take the time and effort to understand what program will be the best fit for you. I tend to connect best with women between the ages of 50-75; however, I enjoy working with clients of varying backgrounds, fitness levels, ages, etc!
Education
Bio
After my high school graduation, I attended Heartland Community College as I had not quite discovered what I wanted to do for a career. I tried focusing on English, Social work, Education, etc. and ended up receiving my Associate's Degree with still no set direction to go next. This is when my focus became more directed at my own health and wellness. I began regularly attending the gym as a means of filling my time. Soon, I began dropping 1-2 pounds per week of the weight I had slowly packed on over the last handful of years. After the first several months of exercising, I began focusing on eating healthier as well. I have been eating a vegetarian diet since this time. It was my own personal weight loss journey that sparked my interest in helping others achieve their own fitness aspirations.
About a year after my weight loss journey (which took about 10 months and made me 50 pounds lighter!), I enrolled in Illinois State University and was accepted in the Exercise Science program my second semester.
Today, I am able to live out my dream of helping those who need extra motivation or guidance to strive towards their personal fitness goals. I have finally discovered 'what I want to be when I grow up'.
