Personal Trainer Overview

I focus on incorporating many methods that work in tandem to accomplish an individuals goal. Through emphasis on lifestyle coaching, core lifts, targeting muscle groups from multiple angles and athletic / functional movements, my clients can achieve the strength, aesthetics, and performance they desire.

Training Philosophy

I believe that training is not just limited to time spent in the gym. True fitness is accomplished through a healthy life style as well as effective training. I stumbled through the growing pains of adapting my lifestyle to achieve the goals I desired. My goal is to minimize or eliminate the trial and error a person would usually go through when striving to meet their desired level. I provide lifestyle coaching to help people adapt a training program in and out of the gym that works for their schedule and individual needs. Any trainer can put you through workouts that can often be found in a magazine. I will give my clients unique and challenging training as well as a full range of information down to a grocery list. I am available 24/7 as a resource, not just a trainer that designs simple workout or circuits. If a client has a question outside the gym involving their fitness I' m always a text, email or phone call away. I practice what I preach and firmly believe that through fitness a person can improve not just their body, but many aspects of their life including mind, confidence and career.

Education

I graduated Arizona State University with a Major in Justice and a minor in Leadership. I was on an Army scholarship and commissioned into the military as an infantry officer.

Bio

As a kid I struggled with health problems and was physically weak. I began taking martial arts at the age of 6 which was my first serious athletic venture. 10 years later I got my black belt but was still not very athletic and afraid of embarrassing myself in the gym. I started working out in my home gym and in high school went from an overweight freshmen to a varsity wrestler, cross country runner, football player, and track athlete. I was granted a full ride ROTC scholarship to ASU. At this point my time spent improving my fitness had already changed my world. Mentally I became very strong training with the Army throughout college. However, one year I let myself slip and a busy schedule put me out of shape, and very unhappy. I vowed that I would never feel like that again and began intense training in the gym. I saw results fast, my performance in ROTC sky rocketed and I was soon in the best shape of my life. I commissioned into the Arizona National Guard so I could get my branch of choice, infantry. I'm currently a 1st Lieutenant and still serving. After college I also decided I wanted to take my fitness to the next level and started competing in NPC physique contests. I broke many plateaus and gathered a much greater understanding of complete fitness. I managed to make it to a national stage and place in several contests, including a 1st place finish. I decided after training friends and giving advice for many years that I wanted to expand my ability to help and got certified as a personal trainer. Currently I'm an independent trainer who operates out of Independence gym.
