Training Philosophy

What is Bootcamp? To say that Breaking Barriers is only a bootcamp is an understatement. Breaking Barriers is not only a place where the recruit gets initiated or re-introduced back into all aspects of physical activity, it is a place where you mentally and emotionally become strong and take back your life. We have trained from age 13 to 70. We are not a one size fits all type of program like many new types of fad workouts. Depending on how out of shape, mentally unprepared, new to physical activity, and/or injury laden will be the deciding point on how far and fast some people can go at first.

We believe in true whole body, mind, and spirit fitness. If your mind is not mentally tough then it is easy to quit, if your body is not in tune with your mind then it cannot get strong, and if there is something emotionally holding your mind and body back then all is for not. Emotional issues lead many of us to the destructive habits that got us in the bad physical and unhealthy shape that we are in now. If this is not addressed then the physical stays where it is.

A true fitness program relies on support, and that is what you get at Breaking Barriers, support from Trainers, support of old and new recruits alike, and hopefully support from family members and friends when they see the transformation that you are making in your life and body.

Bio

I am wife of a wonderful supportive husband that enjoys fitness as much as me. Together we are raising 4 of the best children that God could bless us with. I have discovered through trials and life that I do not thrive and succeed without fitness and supportive nutrition in my daily life. Health and Fitness is what I strive daily to represent. It is a daily journey that has it’s up and downs. Looking back, when I have a team behind me, I am more successful and able to help others be successful. My first team was when I was a high school athlete, that loved the smell of gyms and the scent of determination powered by the blood sweat and tears shed in order to reach our goals. In high school, my coaches placed me on the right path and taught me to hold myself accountable for taking care of myself. The next path I took was to proudly serve in the Marine Corps. The Corps gave me the honor and pride to hold my head high because of what I achieved IN earning that title. The Marines taught me that obstacles are A hurdle to confront and conquer and That makes you a stronger person; they are not placed before you to go around and cower from in fear. I am blessed to have been influenced and taught by leaders and coaches that care for others and they have given me a strong and unshakable foundation for health, fitness and nutrition. Finally, and most notably, I have an encouraging and loving family that I am now responsible for coaching, guiding and cheering on in the path of life and health. I am now more determined to tell others about how good and fulfilling life can be! Life is supposed to be enjoyed! When I take care of myself and vigorously try to fulfill the dreams that make up who I am and I see the fruits of that determination, it fuels me to charge forward, help others and to share my positive outlook.

Breaking Barriers is going to challenge you every day. It is not just one certain type of weight lifting, one certain type of cardio, one way of moving and mobility, the newest fad. It is an absolute plethora of physical activities, techniques, methods, ideology.

Many gyms and fitness facilities say they train all aspects of a program/ideology but really only get good at or trained in one aspect of the program and fall back on that one type of training. They never train the full program to their clients. They never really push people past their comfort zone and challenge the body and mind.

And Believe me when I say there is an Athlete inside everyone! One that can and will be brought out at Breaking Barriers Bootcamp. Also competition is healthy, but only done in the right conditions, under proper supervision, and if the techniques can be properly exhibited throughout the timeframe of the full exercise period. Proper technique is the key to lessening injury.

We train all kinds of people from people who need to stay in shape for some type of sports and athletics program; someone who wants to get ready for a marathon, iron man, MMA, or competition of any kind; people who have sat on the couch for way too long and watched life pass them by; people who need to rehab from an injury; people getting ready for that prom, wedding, the beach, or whatever may be giving them anxiety; people who were honed athletes that want to find that inner fire again.
