Training Philosophy
I take an academic approach to creating a fitness program. I develop a fitness program based on scientific principles to take you from your current fitness level to the highest level you want to reach. I believe that the best results are achieved when you train smart and not hard. While working with together we will use this approach in your fitness program to maximize your results.
Education
In pursuit of becoming a certified personal trainer I attended the National Personal Trainer Institute (NPTI) where I learned to write customized 1 on 1 fitness programs specific to a wide range of fitness goals. My interest in athletics and human performance drew me to study strength and conditioning and I hold recognition as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Additionally, I have worked as an intern with two division 1 athletic programs. In the spring of 2014 I completed myt Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado.
Bio
I have a passion for sports and exercise which was cultivated from a young age and has continued to develop throughout my entire life. As a young adult, I participated in soccer, basketball, cross country, track and field, along with countless hours of shooting hoops in my backyard aspiring to be the next great basketball player. Following my high school running career, the coaches invited me to continue with the cross country program as an assistant coach and later I took over as head coach. While coaching young athletes to perform their best and motivate them to keep giving it their all I realized my passion in life.
Above all, I want to help others reach their goals. I am continually learning ways to better help my clients lose weight and reach the fitness level of their dreams.
My training programs pulls from both my academic education and real world experience (4 years in the industry, 5 years coaching high school athletes, and 1 year working with college athletes) to help you reach your fitness goals!
