Personal Trainer Overview
Have you worked with a trainer and seen no results? Have you tried a workout program that worked for a little bit but didn't get you to where you would like to be? I pride myself on being motivating, not a drill sergeant, but being a safety net to catch you when things get hard down the road. The problem with many trainers is that they operate on a commission basis; once the sale is made they may not have your best interest in mind. Persistence is what works. Contact me [phone please!] and we can schedule the first workout.
Training Philosophy
Life is about balance. With a busy work load, school load, or everyday responsibilities, finding time to make it to the gym IS difficult. Achieving your fitness goals is about making small steps every day, not about spending hours in the gym, buying unnecessary supplements, or adhering to starvation-based diets. The only reason that any trainer, including myself, has a job is because each person is different. Different body, different schedule, different weaknesses, different strengths. I develop programs for clients that work because it fits with YOU. Not with me or any other person. I DO NOT support unnecessary supplements or fad-diets. Consistency in your workouts and proper nutrition is the only healthy and sustainable way to achieve your fitness goals. My style of training stems from my background in baseball (functional strength). With a combination of resistance training (plyometrics, proprioception, power-production, hypertrophy, stretching, etc.), nutrition, and cardiovascular stimulation, YOU CAN achieve your fitness goals. Contact me with any questions you may have.
Education
Currently majoring in Exercise Physiology at the University of Utah with a minor in Nutrition [29 credit hours left as of 10/3/13]. I was studying to be a CPA, majoring in Accounting with an emphasis in Tax Law. After working an internship for an accounting firm based out of San Francisco, I realized that I like being around people too much to hole up in a cubicle for 8 hours a day:) My cap is off to you individuals who sit 5+ hours/day:)
Bio
I grew up in Northern California [San Fran Bay Area] and originally moved to Utah to pursue playing baseball, despite the fact that I'm not LDS. After persistent ulnar nerve complications I hung up the cleats, and I decided to stay because of all the stuff to do nearby. I like to ski and rock-climb...SLC is a great spot to be.
