Personal Trainer Overview
I've been studying the art of Muay Thai for well over 3 years. My focus has always been on proper technique and I always emphasize that with my clients and in group classes. A Muay Thai session is a total body workout where you're learning something useful while burning calories and gaining discipline.
I've been involved with Strength Training for close to two years now. My focus is on resistance training through compound movements done with a barbell. Squats, Bench Press, and Deadlift are the staple exercises. Variations of these movements and other exercises are used as assistance work to further develop the clients strength and power. Through proper programming, a client can see serious gains in as little as two weeks.
A big part of preparing for a Muay Thai/MMA fight is burning excess fat in order to make weight. In going through this process myself, I've gained a lot of knowledge in regards to methods and techniques that help a client lose fat while retaining strength and lean muscle mass. This form of conditioning will get anyone in the best shape of their life! Methods include sprints, sled drags/pulls, prowler pushes, barbell complexes, Muay Thai/MMA drills, and circuit training.
Training Philosophy
In my opinion, being a good personal trainer comes down to doing two things: Listening to your clients needs/goals, and using your knowledge to get the results they want. I'm in a constant state of communication with my clients, because I believe it's my responsibility to ensure that I'm moving them closer to their goals, even if that means pushing them there half the time.
I've learned a lot through Martial Arts and Strength Training. The list includes patience, discipline, and determination. All three are required when you want to move forward in your training, especially if you've hit a plateau. At the end of the day, that's the kind of knowledge I would like to impart on my clients. It's something that will expand beyond your fitness goals and push you further in life.

Bio
I grew up just outside NYC and moved to Manhattan in the fall of 2007 to start College. I studied FIlm and Media at CCNY before transferring to Hunter College, where my studies shifted to Media Studies and Creative Writing. It was when I changed schools that I took up Martial Arts. Once I tried it, I was hooked and started training just as often as I was going to school. I developed a good relationship with my coach and eventually he brought me on to the staff to teach beginners classes and to help run the gym. Before long, I was fully immersed in the world of Combat Sports and physical training. I met a few strength specialists, one of which took me under his wing and taught me most of what he knows in regards to coaching strength athletes. i became obsessed and took any free time I had to read articles online, watch videos by the top Strength and Conditioning coaches in the world, and put my studies to practice in the gym. I soon started coaching friends and family members for fun and for practice. I still help my friends with their form and programming to this day. Earlier this year, I landed an internship at the top Sports Performance facility in NYC. There I met and learned from some of the top trainers and coaches in the city, several of them being former or current professional athletes. At this stage, I'm looking to take my personal training service to the next level. I feel that I have the knowledge of my craft and the right personality to train anyone, regardless of what their goals, experiences, or limitations are.
