Training Philosophy
We achieve these goals by first assessing each member with a Functional Movement Screen and a Health and Fitness History! This allows us to remove any exercises that may be counter productive or potentially harmful. It also guides our training with the exercises we include! For example, if we find that someone has a lack of hip mobility, we program more hip mobility in the workout. We believe in building a solid foundation and improving any movements by appropriate progressions!
The premise of our training style is appropriate functional based progressive strength training! We meet you where you are at physically and mentally with our exercise choices and progress them as your strength and mobility improve.
We also include high intensity interval training (HIIT) through battle ropes, Airdyne Bike, sleds, kettlebells swings, etc! Strength training and HIIT Training have been shown to be some of the best training methods to help accelerate fat loss! Therefore we combine both methods to optimize your ability to melt the inches away!
Melting the inches away cannot be done without a sound nutrition plan! Research shows that eating enough protein and being in a calorie deficit are the main culprits for burning fat! While this is true, we have seen better results come from intermittent fasting and a low carb plan! We consult with you to choose the best plan for your current situation!
Shaun’s Success Story! A few years ago, Shaun came to us frustrated about his current plan not working and hitting that dreaded plateau! After switching to intermittent fasting and a low carb style eating plan, resistance training 2 to 3 times per week, he lost over 120lbs in just over a year!
Anthony’s Success Story! Anthony really came to us to be able to be more functional and to help his friends move heavy objects when the time came. Over time, we where able to progress him to deadlifting, with proper form, over 200lbs and he dropped 5 inches off of his waist. This weight loss was more of a by product of just eating better and working out and was not his immediate goal.
Education
Internships with Akron General Hospitals Sports Performance, Prescription Fitness Personal Training and the Cleveland Indians Strength and Conditioning department!
Skills include fat loss nutrition, strength training, power lifting, functional movement, sports strength and conditioning, exercise for working around previous injuries.
Bio
Hailing from a small town of Brocton, near Buffalo, NY, Coach Brown had aspirations to be a professional fitness and strength coach starting in high school. He started weight lifting at the age of 12 with an at home gym his parents got him for Christmas that year.
Power-lifting and Strongman Competitions became his high school and college passions along with playing multiple other sports including Football! These experiences led to Coach Adam earning his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Baldwin Wallace University.
Upon Graduation, he embarked on a 5 year career in professional baseball as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. The opportunity to learn from the best as a Strength Intern with the Cleveland Indians, and opportunity to practice those skills with the Player Development System of the Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins has allowed Adam to help his clients achieve results using best current practices!
Coach Brown lives in the Cleveland Area and still loves to visit his family near Buffalo, spending time with his friends, and enjoying the great outdoors in his free time!
