Personal Trainer Overview
All of my programs are designed for each individual's particular goals. I don't believe in cookie cutter programs because there are no cookie cutter people. I come from an athletic background by being a starting quarterback in high school and college, so I know what it takes to achieve results and, more importantly, how to help you achieve your goals, quickly, efficiently, and correctly.
Training Philosophy
My philosophy is pretty simple: exercise with a purpose and eat real food. I use a variety of training methods with my clients in order to maximize their results, but I specialize in weight training, core strengthening, flexibility, and aerobic/anaerobic conditioning. I also believe that no success is possible unless you are following a proper nutrition plan. I spend a lot of time with my clients talking about proper food intake, hydration, current "fad diets" and their validity, and much more. You can exercise 10 times per week and burn as many calories as you want; if you're diet is crappy, your progress will be slowed (at the very least) or nonexistent.
Exercising with a purpose means every time you exercise, with or without me, you always have your goals in mind as a reminder for why you're doing this and you are never just going through the motions. If you exercise and just do it to get it done, what are you paying me for? My job is to motivate and push you further than you can handle so you can achieve things that couldn't be done before. I am not going to be a screamer and perfectionist like a drill sergeant because you're biggest motivation is going to be you seeing your results. You're going to see that my program is working and not feel "obligated" to come back, but will WANT to come back because of the experience and success you are having. At the end of the day, I want you to achieve the results you're seeking. If that's happening with me, then that's great for the both of us! If not, then I want you to find your personal training match. Don't worry, it won't break my heart ;)
Education
I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science & Fitness Management from Concordia University Chicago in 2016. While I was in college, I spent a year working at a big "box" gym called XSport Fitness in Norridge, Illinois. At XSport is where I got my first taste of the Personal Training life and I met and worked with many great people. I learned so many things I had not previously known about the industry that have helped shape me into the trainer I am today.
When I moved back to LA, I worked at Kinema Fitness in Downtown Los Angeles. There, I primarily taught group fitness classes including Bootcamp, Core Conditioning, Tabata, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), and Sculpt. At the same time, I was working as an independent Private Personal Trainer in North Hollywood. In December of 2017, I decided to leave Kinema and commit all of my energy towards training privately and expanding my brand: Bivona Strength & Conditioning. Today, that is where I am at and I'm excited for what the future holds! You in?
Bio
I have been an active Certified Personal Trainer for 2 years. I grew up, for the most part, in Laguna Niguel, California. I attended Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana for 2 years before transferring to Hamilton High School in Los Angeles for athletic reasons. I was the Varsity starting quarterback the two years I was there and was recruited to play college football at Division III Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Illinois. I played for three seasons there before deciding to follow my passion for Personal Training my senior year. As you can imagine, being an athlete for a large portion of my life has resulted in me staying very active and involved in up-to-date training methods. Because of that, the transition from athlete to Personal Trainer was seamless, and it is one of the best decisions of my life.
